Who are your favorite travel bloggers/content creators? It seems like so many of the ones I come across are all about viral destinations or luxury hotels. I'm looking for more realistic creators who do down-to-earth content that will actually help me plan trips to places I'm visiting - example linked. Drop your favorites in the comments!

Travel much, buddy?

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Chat GPT is an excellent destination planner.
“I’ll be driving through Albany for 3 hours on a january Saturday. I have a budget of $500 and I’ll be with my partner who likes casual pubs and I like walking around. Create an itinerary that will allow us to sightsee and also have lunch”
Likely because it’s not really connected to the Internet, so try Microsoft Copilot for the same thing. I’ve had great luck with ChatGPT though, you just need to check to see if the places are still active I guess. It did a whole itinerary for me, including destination suggestions, flight, lodging, dining and activities based on parameters I gave it such as budget, atmosphere, weather, etc.
I like onegirlwholeworld.com - similar sort of weekend itineraries and city guides.
more DTE/local haunts ones are on YT honestly. at least that's where I've come across the hidden gems, less over-saturated ones
Any you'd recommend in particular?
