I would not even go to HR. C suite executives will never be fired unless they’re caught red handed doing something illegal. Remember, HR is not your friend and they’re there to protect the company.

This probably depends on what kind of conflict of interest is in play. If it's something that touches upon banking laws, that's a serious matter and should be reported to regulators. But if we're talking about a conflict of interest in terms of office politics or favoritism, that's another matter. In that case there may not be anything you can do but shrug it off.
I wouldn’t push it past HR once you’ve voiced your concerns; it’s in their hands. Credit unions have politics like anywhere else. Pressing too hard can backfire. Better to focus on what you can control, or plan your next move.
