First big change is YOU ARE THE CLIENT. You need to start caring about all of the work, from the big marketing ideas to the small needs for B2B or CRM.
I've gone back and forth in my long career. And there were definitely periods when I appreciated the better hours (was able to spend more time on my community theatre hobby). But if you're there 5+ years and the company's not evolving, it can get monotonous and you'll itch for new challenges.
Also, it depends on the company. Some require more selling in and up, others are more flat when it comes to decision-making. For me, it’s an easy trade-off. I channel my creativity into hobbies and my life outside the office now that work doesn’t monopolize 200% of my brain and energy.
