Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

My spouse has unlimited PTO and it’s actually more challenging for him to get time off than before. I don’t have it but take way more time off and I’m ABLE to.
My company is looking into offering unlimited PTO and I think it’s a terrible idea.
Oh it would be difficult for employees to take PTO. The current consensus amongst many staff here is they aren’t able to take PTO due to staffing shortages, workload, etc. already so I don’t think this would be a positive addition.
My company offers this for our executive team. It’s a money saver for the company because people at the executive level tend to take less time off and there’s no PTO cash out when executives leave.
The key is to take the time you need to maintain your mental health. This can be a challenge if the culture doesn’t support this. I do what I need to do and I have never had a problem.
Take the vacation!
Sounds like you do work somewhere that has a culture encouraging taking care of yourself! I’m fortunate to be able to do this without the unlimited PTO because of the dept I’m in but the rest of the company does not have a supportive culture around time off.
I do - some people clearly abuse it and others can’t seem to ever feel comfortable walking away from their work to take advantage of it. I do miss the transparency of knowing you had X hours to use before the end of the year and having that as a motivator, but overall it’s pretty nice not having to check allowances and if your work is in a good place you can take advantage and fit in a week off here and there. The fine print is having to find someone to actually cover for you while you’re out and that’s where they get you if you’re in a leadership role.
I love that!! Sounds like you work at a place that is very supportive of taking time off so this unlimited PTO works great for you guys! I wish that was the case at my place.
I think unlimited PTO is a good thing but it's best to be mindful of the potential pitfalls and to make sure that you're using it in a way that's healthy and sustainable for you. It's a battle with discipline. It's easy to take too much time off that you end up falling behind on your work.
Good point! I think like what the first poster said, it’s definitely dependent on the culture at your work place. There’s always going to be people who take advantage of this to the max and the latter too.
