I spent almost 10 years with a broad litigation and litigation adjacent practice and i was actively looking for an exit to being a lawyer. Ultimately I evaluated what I really wanted out of a job and found an attorney role that I really like and am content with. It's relatively low pressure in-house so it's much different than what I was previously doing (albeit at a big pay cut).
My advice would be to be as introspective and blunt with yourself as to what you want and then consider whether a legal job can give that to you. One thing about a law degree is it is pretty versatile (I know people make fun of statements like that but I've found it to be true). Hopefully you can find something that will give you fulfillment.
Good luck!!
Feeling the same way. Been in the profession for 7 years spanning litigation and transactional. Want to quit quit big law entirely / don’t want to join in-house and likely quit the profession entirely, but don’t know where it’s all headed and how to make a change. What can I do so I’m excited about work again, and I’m motivated again. Currently considering whether a masters (abroad) might help me pivot entirely.
Yea, I am actively catching up with my friends who are originally from UK and Germany for this reason
