What firm management software do you use? Some assists AI features for this now that might be available to you. Like Clio Manage AI
It’s very specific applications of AI so seems to be pretty effective IMO. Ask for a demo from your local Clio rep and you can see if it is a good fit for your firm. There are other useful features that may help sell it to your management too. And it is separate in location and cost from their generative AI tool aimed at helping lawyers with legal work. Which should help dispel some concerns.
Look into some type of AI.
You don’t rely on any tool to give you accurate information. You use them to get the answer you looking for faster. Say, you have a 100 page document containing dates and other relevant information. There are tools that can extract them and tell you where in the document the information is found. You then confirm accuracy of it.
Most decent size law firms, especially those that handle large volume of cases, have a docketing system that automatically extract all deadlines, due dates, schedules, ect. from incoming mail. Those systems are developed by vendors who ensure that no deadline would be missed. But, if you are at a small firm and do not have access to such systems, the task of extracting dates and the likes has significantly been simplified by AI. You can create a prompt that you can use to do extraction but you should always confirm accuracy. Good luck
