Working in finance, I spend all day analyzing risk, so when it comes to my personal investments, I sometimes wonder—should I be just as cautious, or is this my chance to take bigger swings? Right now, I keep about 70% in index funds, 20% in individual stocks, and 10% in higher-risk plays like crypto, but part of me wonders if I should go bolder. I know some colleagues who take huge risks in their personal portfolios and others who play it ultra-safe because they already deal with so much risk at work. How do you approach it? Do you keep it conservative, or do you go bold?

I’m definitely more on the conservative side with my own investments. I like to keep things steady. Most of my portfolio is in index funds, a few individual stocks and bonds. I do have some higher-risk plays, but nothing too crazy. I’d rather sleep well at night than stress over big swings!

I don’t wanna undersell but also trying to avoid being aggressive but quote a decent number which will be achievable. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Is 125k $ base a fair value for or I can pitch higher? They have a 15 to 20 % bonus on top of base pay and a 10% match on 401k which the recruiter keep highlighting.
