Please help with your suggestions as I have just 2 days left for my DOJ.
YOE: 6.1

1.)Mindtree:19LPA (All are fixed, since 12% VP will be given 100% every month)
2.)HCL Technologies: 21 LPA (19.3 Fixed + 8% VP)
3.)PWC AC-Banglore: 22LPA(All Fixed)

It’s burn out. Constant overtime needs means this is broken and honestly Something needs to change. Salary does not mean you should be abused by an employer like we all are if working for salary. I used to work around 3000 hours a year. Due to business needs. Enough is enough you want me to work 1 & 1/2 years worth of hours in a single year,….. Then PAY up. My family needs me toooo If they had to pay me over time or time and a half then the hours world get reduced to normal and no OT as they would not want to pay it. But salary… ya get abused.
Corporate America values the appearance of productivity rather than actual productivity. Bureaucracies value controls, standardization, systems, and processes. Outcomes are secondary as long as the process was followed. An empty desk is an efficient desk.
It’s ebbs and flows.
It also depends on my interest in the work. When stuff makes sense and their clear path it’s way easier to be motivated and work OT.
Burn out and priorities change over your lifetime, especially when you have a family. These days I get irritated if I have to work more than 8 hours in a day and 4 on Friday 😆.
Only blue collar or state-funded jobs get overtime. You do what is required to not get fired or you leave.
