Honestly, I wouldn’t be excited about a $200 Abercrombie & Fitch gift card. I never shop there, and their style isn’t really my thing, so I’d probably have a hard time finding something I actually want. For a birthday gift, I’d much prefer something more personal or from a store I actually like. Or it just feels generic and not very thoughtful.
Same - get them a whisky tasting thing or some crazy activity voucher if you want to give them something like that
That seems like a lot of money for someone who's only a potential love interest, not an actual love interest.
I would get something under $40 and have it be more personalized.
It's coming on pretty strong.
Gift card is not a good gift and A&F is a weird choice. (No offense)
We can help u pick different gifts out. U want to do clothing? What is his style? A $200 budget is good to work with
Definitely spend less than $50, or it’s coming on too strong.
Does he like to read? Get him a book.
Does he play golf? Get a box of Titleist Pro V1s.
Does he play video games? Get him a game.
Does he drink liquor? Get him a clear ice ball maker.
Does he like to grill? Get him nice steaks.
Take him out for a meal, or if you’re a good cook, make him something.
Gift cards tend to feel a little less personal to me also.
The gift will have to depend on the person’s interest - what does the person like?
Yeah, where did the A&F idea come from?
What are his hobbies/interests? A gift card for that may be a better choice.
If you think giving a potential love interest $200 of cash for their birthday is weird, I don’t see much of a difference for a gift card. And like everyone else hinted at, I haven’t met anyone that shops at A&F since I was in high school over 20 years ago.
Gift cards aren’t a good gift imho. It’s like something your grandma or uncle would send you. Get something that reflects their interest.
A&F usually caters for Teens - late Gen Zs so might not be useful for someone older than this age range
Mostly this. Maybe Nordstrom instead.
Bigger picture… I’ve always found any gift cards way way impersonal. Don’t you know anything about them?
Rising Star
Put some honest thought into it. Something personal. I mean, does the guy matter to you?
Why don’t you take him out to dinner? Potential alternative gift ideas could be a tool or extra battery for his tool, Ray Ban sunglasses, pair of Birkenstock sandals, lightweight jacket, bottle of liquor, etc. I hope he becomes an official boyfriend soon!
A&F is still around?
Very much so, total rebrand, fixed their sizing and really great capsule / classic styling. Love their work trousers and jeans.
$200 to A&F? I’m concerned for you. Buy a Peter Millar and a pack of Titleists.
