Would any of you take a $20k pay cut to go from working at an insurance defense firm to working for an insurance carrier doing the same work? Just no billing, and “easier” cases to handle.

I wouldn’t because I couldn’t do that work and feel good about myself

You’d feel bad defending against claimants seeking compensation for nebulous “soft tissue injuries” they suffered during 35 MPH collisions while they were restrained and there was no airbag deployment? I feel fine about it.

is there growth potential at the carrier though? heavy case load..

50 cases. Not a ton of growth, but there isn’t a ton of growth potential at my firm, either.

Asking for a friend:
My friend received two job offers for Account Executive roles: a Mid-Market role with Confluent and an Enterprise role with ThoughtSpot. He’s conflicted because Confluent is a more established company, ThoughtSpot is Pre-IPO. Confluent is a lucrative product to sell and has established SDR reps so there’s a good blend of inbound and outbound sales. Thoughtspot is more of a startup culture where most of the sales comes from outbound and it’s a tougher sell.

My gf and me call each other everytime we have free time. However lately she seems disinterested in phone time. Hi new here. Idk what my value is and if I’m getting paid an amount that reflects my hard work. I am a paralegal for a small law firm (family and immigration) w only 1 attorney. I have about 20 files or more in my rotation at a time. I work on various types of cases at once. Some are simple, others are extensive. I feel like it’s very unstructured and one of the managers micromanages. It’s like every man for himself. Take home pay is $50k. I am working on my bachelors deg. Do I get paid enough?
