Hell no
Yeah I love Atlanta and I think it would be a fine place to retire. I know plenty of older people living downtown and enjoying the strong communities in O4W, Inman, etc.
But top 10 places to retire feels like a stretch. Maybe they’re including Blue Ridge etc
No
Um no, I do not mind living here for now but I would say I see myself living in Atlanta for the rest of my life. At least I hope not. And while I have not made retirement plans just yet, if I get to choose a city to retire in , it would not be Atlanta. The resources in the city for the elderly are not fantastic.
My industry puts me in front of new homeowners often... I can tell you this is 100% true... but the reason is not because its a fabulous place to retire.... it is because it is a fabulous place to build a career... so if you want to be near the grandkids.... lots of people move here for the grands, and the sports, concerts, arts facilities, access to airport and endless options for walkable communities. I would call it- active retiring- as opposed to need to sit on the beach cause Im too old to do anything else kind of retiring.
