All work papers should be laid out and formatted so that they'd make sense in a binder. Visualize the flippability. No, we will never print them again but this is what the partner expects God rest his soul
What about labeling and using borders for totals which are almost always missing or inconsisten formulas. Cmon guys take some pride in your product!

Nobody knows what the hell calculations are on some of these tabs

I have a very strong preference for gridlines, which people with any advisory or consulting background hate, but they make audit work papers so much easier to visually review.
Well now I know what I am going to cover in the next training I do with seniors on a mo they basis.
With todays tech I am surprised to read this.
When people add styles, different formats, workbooks may crash. Maybe depends on the platform they are kept in your place of work. But in our office, this is what happens sometimes. It always happens in the most inconvenient time. While it certainly helpful to have color coding, at times simplicity and plainness is all I need. It’s a personal preference I guess.
