Would you consider yourself introverted or extroverted? Do you feel like your introvertedness/extrovertedness has a strong affect on how you approach work and how it affects progression at your place of work?

I believe I'm a thoughtful and creative introvert. I do enjoy being around people, but it definitely drains my social battery. I'm much more comfortable by myself and with my partner.

like

Yea this is me as well. I like to think that I've gotten decent at showing up in larger groups and being able to contribute but I also get drained and am most comfortable on my own

I'm an extrovert but depending on the people around me, I'd either be friendly or reclusive. At my current workplace, I'm definitely reclusive and looking forward to change workplace

like

Damn that's tough to hear. Hopefully you're able to find a better spot soon and move forward from what you're currently working with at your current organization

Oh, I am extremely shy and introverted when you first get to know me. But then I’m socially awkward when you do get to know me. It definitely affects my career and how I approach things but I’m not sure what I can do about at this point.

like

Do you feel like you're able to be socially awkward with coworkers or is that more exclusive to like friends? I agree that depending on your introversion and how that presents in the workplace that can affect your career which does suck because it doesn't mean that you as an introvert aren't doing great work, it just means that it's presenting differently sometimes

100%. I’m naturally introverted but have no problem being extroverted when It’s needed. I make sure I take alone time when it gets to be too much. It’s draining mentally but that’s why it’s called work:)

like

Yea I like to think that I'm the same but there are times that my introvertedness comes out. I've been able to learn to speak up and be a voice in the room when I need to be especially if it's going to help with promos and raises but it's still tough sometimes

Which company should I join, Mindtree or Persistent as a Java developer with 8 years of experience?

I’m highly disappointed about the fact that whenever I talk to the HR teams or recruiters about joining bonus, they state there’s no provision. However, my male colleagues or ex co-workers who interviewed for the same position where offered a joining bonus. This has happened to me twice now and I’m starting to believe something is wrong in the system or there is some kind of biased against women at certain workplace.

I started a full time in-house design job that pays extremely well. I barely have to work at all. This makes me very confused since I kept hearing stories of people working 60+ hr weeks as designers at ad agencies. I am not complaining, but I have this creeping irrational feeling that I’ll get fired for not working even though there’s nothing for me to do. Should i be making up projects or asking for more work? Or just chill out? I just feel very confused. Are a lot of full time jobs like this?

Hi all
I started out as a graphic designer. Worked for about 4yrs in different roles. Then i started a digital design role for 2 yrs and then made my transition into ux. i have been in a ux role for 5 years. But i want to steer my career towards something more creative. Like in 5-10 years I wouldn’t want to be a specialist or a ux director. I d like to be an art director or creative director. I love branding & marketing but also product. Would love something that allows me to do both?

Question! I just moved(transferred) to another team of my company and received new title, graphic & creative services. I was a senior graphic designer at the previous team. What do you think about my new title? I know that title is not a big thing but why I feel like my title is downgraded here… Good thing is my jobs here at my current team are what I really wanted to do. This is amazing. I love my new team and people here! Super healthy working environment! But just curious about the title.

I want to put together a XD file with a whole bunch of helpful web and app components for other designers to just drag and drop. 1. Is this a waste of time due to the market being saturated? 2. Where do I sell it? 3. Is there anything I need to know first?
