We’ve got about 15 teachers at my school who graduated from there.

Happens all the time. Not weird.
I would if I lived close by, but I live 900 miles away.
I actually have 2 former students who are now teaching at our school. I love it! They are both excellent teachers and it's great having them here. Not weird at all!
I’m in a small area, so that is fairly common, actually! I work at a school about 40 minutes away from where I went and wouldn’t have minded working there if the opportunity existed when I was looking.
You’ll get over it. A paycheck has a strange way of balancing out one’s universe. If you will be working with those who were once your teachers, I predict it will take you longer to comfortably address them by their first name than getting past the daily experience of “that was once my hall locker.”
I taught at the same school I attended. It was kind of nice because I already understood the culture and traditions. I also taught kids whose families I knew. In all but one case it was fine.
Are there some COINS involved????
I did for ten years. I loved it!
That would be a wonderful idea.
After reflecting on the quality of education you might have received, applying to teach at your old elementary school is more than just a nostalgic choice. It’s a powerful opportunity to invest in the lives of young students, to contribute meaningfully, and even help shape the kind of policies and environment you once wished for as a student yourself.
It would be an honor and a deeply fulfilling experience to return as someone who can now inspire, support, and make a difference.
I absolutely would. There are many teachers in our district schools who once were students in the same school. That being said, if it feels too weird to you, go some place else.
Ha! I am currently working with former students! It’s great!
I do the same district. It would be fine, except I don't do junior high anymore. My high school was private, so I don't expect to make 1/3 the salary any time soon.
