Start applying right now like crazy. No way to tell if you’re safe or not but applying elsewhere is a better option than waiting or asking
See if your company has filed a WARN notice, required before a mass layoff.
And depending on how much the company wants to avoid 'tarnishing' their image, they will make sure they stop the number of jobs cut just short of the notification threshold.
Every quarter if they can.
Seeing 'valued' staff migration out the door is a good red flag.
Most companies won't tell you if thery are about to do layoffs before they are ready to make a public announcement. Just start making preparations in case it happens.
You wouldn't get an honest answer anyway. Just do your part and apply to every other job you can
We would hear repeated rumors about being laid off ‘soon’. That went on for oh, maybe 10 years lol 🤨
It never hurts to have a backup plan in place.
Google WARN Notices + your state and look for your company, that should paint a better picture for you. I’d agree with SA1, apply as quickly as possible.
What would you do if it were confirmed? Whatever that answer is, do that. If you’re impacted, you’ll be ahead of the pack. And if you’re not, you’ll can decide on next steps without the pressure of having to find your next role. Take your power back, and hold onto it like crazy. Waiting for the hammer to fall made me very very sick mid-career. Please don’t do what I did, which was watch and worry. IOW, nothing productive.
