You’re reading too much into this. I would work with any and all recruiters that have a role that you are interested in. You don’t have to commit to just one so what’s the harm in seeing what they have to offer? I totally agree that some recruiters are more valuable than others. And if you really can’t deal with them then you can always withdraw from the opp (though if it’s a good one, why?) or just not use them going forward.
Rising Star
A lot of time there’s no exclusive in-house role. It’s a bait & switch. You’ll learn they just filled it a few hours ago! Then, shockingly, you’ll get a pitch for a local sweatshop.
Bottom line....I don't "trust" recruiters.
The only job of a recruiter is to locate a position connect with the hiring manager. So you can interview with that position and then get a job and then they move on to the next person. That's the only role and to me. It doesn't matter if me and a recruited vibe or not.
I’d work with any recruiter if can get me a job tbh. However, I will say be mindful of how many recruiters you work with. Your resume is your calling card. Don’t let too many recruiters have your calling card or else you’ll shut yourself out from roles because the way the recruiting game works is a recruiter “owns” your resume once it’s in a firm/company’s ecosystem
Agreed. Don’t use too many recruiters but definitely go with whoever can get you in somewhere. No way to tell if this particular recruiter is full of it or not, but since most recruiters don’t specialize in in-house roles, I’d say there is a good shot that this recruiter does have a connection that others might not.
