Wow… SCOTUS just ruled in a case involving majority-group discrimination that the Court of Appeals can’t join in on the fun by slapping extra hurdles on majority-group plaintiffs. What is the world coming to when you can’t even discriminate against majority groups as payback for what their ancestors did? Truly tragic. Smh.

OP, I’m debating with myself whether your post is laced with a bit of irony or serious. I’m hoping the former. But I suppose I’ll never know. 🤣

There’s no excuse that by the age of 25 you have never tried therapy. I’m speaking directly to the demographic in this group who I’m sure over 95% of people in here are earning 6 figures. Key word: TRY. I understand it’s not for everyone but to have never even attempted seeking therapy is a injustice to yourself and the people around you.

Canadian salary data for these service line seem almost none existent on fishbowl/reddit.
Currently completing my first year as Senior in Audit and its become pretty apparent that going through the whole manager pipeline isn't really what I'd like to do. Looking to explore options and would like to hear some real time figures, especially CF/MA and TAS - as I'm looking to make the pivot to IB hopefully in the future.

Thanks

I’ve been proposed an exit as Product Owner at a real company, not a consulting one. Staff seems nice, good culture, good salary (less than consulting but well), BUT I would have to move countries for that job and start a new life.

I’ve also been proposed a Manager position at a consulting company in my home city, with potential of bigger salary thanks to bonuses. Culture seems good... But I’m sure it’s gonna be a hell lot of work.

Which one would you take? Should I exit and never look back?

Any advice on how to deal with a partner/boss who is shifting all responsibility to me with zero guidance, no mentoring, and an unwillingness to discuss the issues? (Small firm, only associate under this partner and have been working at the firm for 2 years). There are an increasing number of passive aggressive comments from the partner who expects to be completely hands off once the case lands on my desk. Wants me to figure it all out despite cases being from different areas of law.

Currently in the final stages of the interviewing process for a "non-partnership track attorney" position at a top-ranked big law firm. Any tips for building a client base from scratch? I’m a 4th year associate at a firm of 12 attorneys. I practice in business, compliance, and real estate (primarily on partners’ files) and don’t litigate. Most of the partners’ clients are wealthy friends or friends of friends (not my circle). Associates are not referred business, even cold calls, and so far “networking” events like Chamber of Commerce luncheons have been a bust. I equate a book to autonomy and career choice and pressure is on.
