I watched all of it. It didn’t feel like six minutes. It was super relatable, well executed, and funny without being corny.
It has over 3m views already, just on youtube. So i think plenty of people care.
Uhhh the masthead only counts views if people click to watch the ad. If it counted every single visitor who opened YT as a view the numbers would be wayyy higher.
Apple is one of the biggest brands in the world and arguably doesn't have to advertise, people will buy whatever they put out and the media will always cover any new products for free. But they still do TV and don't advertise on Facebook. I think that says a lot about what they are working and what doesn't.
Apple is a luxury brand and a technology company. Let's not extrapolate that to all advertisers.
I really liked it. 🤷♀️
People watch 3 hour movies. We binge entire seasons in one sitting.
It’s not about the length, it’s about the quality. They came out with this ad 4 months too late.
I turned it off as soon as I heard all the chewing going on 🥴
My main reaction was that I want some spaghetti and meatballs now!
Lol same!!
I bailed after ten seconds.
Rising Star
The judges at Cannes watch it
Nice, bro. Nice.
I think just advertisers
I did... haha
I really enjoyed it. Displayed experiences of those WFH, within their target demos, of course (ie divorced dad w/kids, adult who lives with fam, etc). Didn’t feel like I watched a 7 min ad tbh but I work in media lol
The prior pizza box one was great
Makes me want to go back to the office ASAP
Funny, relatable, a bit too late (I imagine due to internal approvals.) I don't have a problem with the length because it is entertaining to watch and has an interesting storyline.
My issue is that Apple doesn't provide a holistic B2B solution like their competitors, Google and Microsoft. It's apparent to me throughout the ad that one thing Apple lacks is a robust messaging app that would be similar to Slack or Teams. They are using iMessage which I personally hate using for work purposes. Apple also don't offer collaboration apps like Google Docs or Teams, which is key to WFH. At the end of the day, Apple is a hardware company not a software company, which I think will be their ultimate downfall in a WFH economy.
Overall, I think the ad is funny and speaks to the target demos pain points, however this wouldn't convince me to switch to an Apple solution if I'm an ITDM of a company.
I liked it....
