McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.
soo my sleep schedule is effed up, i keep trying to wake up early-ish (7am) but i’m lacking motivation and i wake up tired 😴
i stumbled upon this article that talked about this book. we always hear about the “secret” of strong leaders is that they wake up early. has anyone read this/tried it out?

Actuals, not perfect diem. Corporate card has to be used for flights/hotels. Meals are ok in personal.
401k blows but health insurance is great. Don’t have anything to compare the expense policy to, but it’s $20 for breakfast and lunch and $40 for dinner. Bonus varies but mine was usually around 10-15%
Is it per diem or actuals? Can you use your personal card for expenses?
Thanks ZS1! Any other miscellaneous comp/benefit related items?
Yeah 401k blows (pretty standard match but shit vesting period). Health insurance is quite cheap and seems to cover a good bit but I’ve had a couple instances recently where it hasn’t covered some stuff for me (I guess it was considered “preventative” even though I’m already obese and it was via physician referral?). I’ve been using my personal card for everything since my corporate card never showed up after ordering. Expense policy (actual) has been mentioned but has been reasonably flexible for me (I tend to skip breakfast/lunch and splurge on dinner, which raises the $40 audit flag but usually gets approved anyway as I spend $0 on breakfast/lunch). Bonus % has been reasonable for early-mid stage titles. Pretty mediocre PTO/holidays compared to the Big 4 I came from. More than benefits, though, know what you’re getting into in terms of fractional staffing — I’d say that was the biggest thing that took getting used to (along with less travel). Oh, also, firm events like trainings seem to prefer (and usually require, boooo) Hilton, if you’re a Marriott (RIP SPG) or Hyatt person.
