Never made my own potato salad, realized how important it was to add a small splash of vinegar to give it a slight tang. I don’t know why but roasted string beans tossed with olive oil and some Montreal steak seasoning is so good. The little crispy burnt ends are amazing.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on fufu. I know it was trending on social media for awhile. Always wanted to try but there’s no where local that sells it.

My go-to staple meal if I really don’t know what to cook has been spam, rice and eggs. Add in a little seaweed in there and you have yourself a musubi. What do yall eat if you don’t know what to cook?

@the director that recommended the Nissin Raoh instant ramen. Just tried it today definitely was not what I was expecting. Feel like this was the most actual ramen tasting instant noodles I ever had. Keep the recommendations coming!!!

Looking for new instant noodle recommendations! My current favorite is the carbonara buldak noodles!! Think it’s the perfect blend of spicy and flavor.

First pulled pork of the season. Smoking a 3½ lb bone-in half shoulder roast. Simple rub: brown sugar, kosher salt, black pepper, ground coriander, ground cumin, paprika, instant coffee, cocoa powder. Smoking with cherry wood up to or a bit past the stall, then take off & refrigerate overnight. I’ll finish in the oven tomorrow, braising in a Dutch oven with beer, a cider vinegar, bay leaves, and some fish sauce. Take out at 205°F, do the bone test, let rest/cool, the pull. Save the pot likker!

Smoked yardbird leg quarters. Simply done, no marinade. Washed, patted dry, oiled, sprinkled with rub. Smoked hot & fast, indirect heat, lump charcoal & cherry wood, temp up to 470°F in the cook chamber at grate level. Glazed with a mix of soy sauce, honey, garlic, & orange marmalade. After thighs hit 165°F, moved to direct heat to crisp skin. Tender, flavorful, & juicy, done ~30 minutes after lit charcoal dumped into firebox. Served with broccoli, mac & cheese, & local strawberries.
