Oh, absolutely chicken soup. In the winter I always make sure I have some cans of Progresso chicken soup on hand in case I catch a cold. Chicken soup and a grilled cheese sandwich can't be beat. When I lived around the corner from a good Chinese takeout I would sometimes get hot and sour soup when I felt lousy. More intense than chicken soup but in the right circumstances it could get me feeling better.
My grandmother used to make the best homemade chicken soup and freeze it for when we were sick. I need to try that when fall/winter rolls around again. That always made me feel so happy!
I am right there withh you OP. When I was a kid my mom would make us homemade chicken noodle soup when we were sick and it was one of my favorite meals ever. Nothing beats it when I am not feeling my best.
Hmm outside of the classic chicken noodle soup one of my go to sick meals is oatmeal with some bananas and other fruit in it. It doesn't really require any effort to actually make, and it's warm and filling which is exactly what I need.
Spicy soups really help wake me up and get the blood flowing. A dash of ginger and turmeric in my soups can’t hurt. And as soon as I stop vomiting, greasy fried chicken is my go-to lol.
Not a meal but whenever I’m sick I make lemon ginger tea by slicing lemons and fresh ginger and steeping them for about 15 min. I drink it throughout the day and it’s good for everything - fevers, stomach bugs, a cold etc
