How was it OP? I don't know that I am really a huge Ubeperson so I dont' know if I would like this but you do have me intrigued. I am really curious on what it tastes like OP.

Ube is like a tropical sweet potato (native to the Philippines) that gives a nutty and vanilla flavor. It smells sweet and earthy like coconut, and gives a really rich flavor in desserts.
I’ve got the texture and creaminess of the basque cheesecake but the flavor and richness of the ube. But I made this a very mild flavor so it doesn’t overpower the cheesecake taste or the caramelized sugar from the burnt top
I’m have very little point of reference for this dish but it does look great

Do you think it would taste the same if you made it with taro? I always thought they were similar but never had them side by side.

Hmm taro is a lot more earthy. The starch content is also higher so it would impact consistency, so may not be good on cakes. But I can see a salty dish made with taro like chips and Hawaiian poke
