By renting, you lower upfront costs, get flexibility in your living arrangement, and avoid all the hidden expenses associated with home ownership, such as maintenance, property taxes, etc. With rising living costs, owning a home is a pipe dream for most people, and you shouldn't build your life around something that will likely never come to pass.
