Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

I'm serving notice period in TCS and my last day is in 2 weeks. I requested for pickup of laptop in the portal but I came to know that it will take time for pickup and I won't be available if they come late. So I decided to go to office and surrender the laptop as I'm in the location of office only. Is there a seperate request to be raised for surrender of laptop and how to cancel the existing request for pickup. Please guide.Tata Consultancy

Hang in there! What this tells me:
1. You’re getting the interview. You’re resume looks very good, your recruiter is good as well.
2. Your not getting the offer. That means someone else beat you during the interview. Sometimes it’s skill based, sometimes it’s culture fit, sometimes it’s you (said something bad).
I’d analyze the issue, and keep pushing on!
You got it man.
Thank you! This was helpful, just have to keep going and improve and hope something works out
The job market is incredibly competitive right now. It’s unrealistic to assume things will stay this difficult. You would’ve had a job by now under normal conditions, and you’ll find one quickly once society recovers if you haven’t before then. I recently finally got an offer I’m happy with after months of searching.
seriously so happy for you because I know how relieved I would feel if I had an offer lol 😂 thank you, going to keep trying and keep applying!
Update: I have 4 offers!!! Going to accept one for over 6 figures + a signing bonus!!! Thanks to everyone who gave me great advice and keep looking if you haven’t found it yet! You will!!
Congrats man.
Sorry to break it to you but no one cares if you were tier 1 or early promoted when applying for new jobs. I’m assuming you’re applying for jobs you’re qualified for, so just keep looking as you’re not the only one who get rejected multiple times.
Sorry- harsh reality is no one cares about that all that much and this discussion tells me you are anchoring on it pretty hard.
Having been through a similar experience, I’ll say that interviewing is a skill and it’s one most of us aren’t very good at because we find a job and then excel at it and let our performance do the talking. I would suggest doing a lot of mock interviews with people who will be candid and maybe also record yourself.
The job market is honestly very hard right now. Don’t give up! Keep applying!
Also in the same boat! ive been applying and interviewing for months, got many interviews, and nothing. I’m an S3 too so I have many years of experience. Crazy that it’s this difficult to get anything
And lol 7 years of experience hahaha
How are you in the interviews? It’s more about fit than knowledge IMO.
Same here
I tried to understand why. There are a lot of politics in recruiting too. Some job postings are fake, some recruiter don’t think you are a quick win for them so they got you, they are interviewing other people, hr haven’t looked at your application yet, some hiring people nitpick things that you can’t control. Then the last I pester my SO for comfort. Lol don’t worry you will find the one, it just takes time.
How are you doing in the interview questions? And are you making it to the second round?
Also realize when everyone has the same background it’s hard to stick out, maybe try applying to positions a little outside of accounting where your experience will be more unique
Figure it out! There’s always a solution. Re write your resume. Re do your LinkedIn. Research more about how to perform well in interviews. Research what type of people are getting those roles. Do they have extra certifications? Are you ensuring you’re coming across as a great candidate for things other than directly accounting related roles?
Same
I'm on the same boat! Reading this post made me feel better
Glad I could help lol
At least you’re getting interviews 😞
Same here and it’s busy season as well. Competition is crazy right now especially now that it’s all remote and the lay offs. Best wishes to you! Definitely keep it up.
I’ve had the exact opposite experience. See below for some tips based off of my opinion (again just my opinion):
1. How’s your attitude during the interview? You don’t want to come off as a know it all or entitled just because you have big 4 on ur resume.
2. Are you able to connect with the interviewer and show how your skills translates to the new role?
3. What are your salary expectations? if your asking for 50% more than someone else ; they’ll most likely get it
4. Are you using a recruiter? For some reason I don’t like recruiters. They’re pushy and feel like they’re only looking out for themselves. Apply directly on the company website (this will save them money as well)
5. ALWAYS save questions for the end. I always like to ask throughout but you can’t not ask anything when they say “do you have any questions”
6. You always need to be transparent. When i got my most recent offer I was very transparent with my wants / needs from the beginning
Focus less on technical expertise and prior career performance and more on building a genuine connection with the people you interview with.
What’s your level? Assuming exp. associate? What kind of roles are you applying to? Have you reached back out to any of the interviewers for feedback?
Ah yes sorry I overlooked the piece on early promotion.
I've interviewed with two different companies this year and was ghosted by both.
Sorry :/ hope you get something you like!
Dude. So I realized from several of my interviews that the people hiring me wanted to gage if I would get bored or be passionate about my job there. Do you think this might be your issue? Do you say you like your current position or speak highly of pwc in your interviews?
Yes I never speak badly about PwC, the only time I admitted to even being remotely unhappy was when I was being interviewed by someone who came from PwC in my same group and he knew all the people I worked with so we spent like 5 minutes just bullshitting about PwC BCM but that was the only time
Anyone in this group know if Transaction diligence at EY equivalent to the FDD group at Pwc?
Yes it is
