Canada Big4 ---> US Big4
Share your experience if you were in the same situation. If going for the same firm, should I apply directly through job search sites or try reaching out to the US firm internally? Will the US firm sponsor L1 visa for Canadian citizens? Did you take a title cut?
What were your guidelines when setting up your personal budget? % of income for housing, specific dollar amount of disposable income, etc.?
Anyone willing to share some best resources (books, podcasts, etc) for imposture syndrome? For awareness, I am a white women in HR. Always struggled with confidence but experienced some brutal/toxic management with my HR role with a bad business partner (now in a new role), and I am continuing to struggle with my confidence. Appreciate resources that are “self-help”. Also considering a therapist but hoping to also own the process myself for quicker “recovery”. TIA!
I would like to have your opinion.
In a big 4, do you think it is awkward or strange to have a drink with a manager as a junior late in the night ?
We talked a bit, she accepted directly.
(I am a male, she is a female)
Thanks for your answer !
How far would you commute for a great paying job (assuming you don’t have the option to move)?
Hey! Is there any hiring managers looking for HR / Talent Acquisition candidates. I have a MBA in HRM, 2 years experience within HR, was on track to become an HRBP at Amazon but chose to go into to Talent Acquisition due to a toxic work environment. I’m looking for a new role and would to speak with someone regarding new opportunities or even to discuss some pointer on how to pivot into a new role!
Thoughts on PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP certs? I have approximately 9 years of HR exp and my bachelors and MBA. Been debating on whether or not I need to fulfill my urge to get a certification. Wanted to get some thoughts around whether you have a similar background and opted to or opted to not get their certification? Thanks!
I'm leaving Public Accounting (yay).
I have maxed my 401k in 2021, however Crowe did not fund their discretionary match, I guess because of COVID?? (A good reason to leave, imo).
My new firm offers 6% match and immediate vesting. This is worth about $9k to me today, or > $70k at retirement with 7% growth.
Can I max out contributions at the new company to take advantage of the basic benefit they offer that Crowe doesn't (401k matching), and somehow reverse the Crowe 401k to avoid penalties?
Is there any resources someone can point me to about the potential legal issues and more information from an HR perspective about contingent employees (temps, contract workers, part-time workers) versus normal FTE’s?
I’m working on a project for an HR class and finding good sources with real evidence about this from SHRM and news publications has been rough. Thanks!
Anyone know when PwC and KPMG pay raise are? Is it august like EY?
Hoping Deloitte’s pay raise makes waves to the rest lol
Is anybody else having a really difficult time hiring for employees to work in the office full-time? My boss is against working remotely or offering a hybrid option. I’ve never had such a hard time filling roles. This includes finding a new in-house recruiter.
How do you handle a toxic leader in dictatorship environment? A leader that cannot take feedback, but instead manipulate you and yell at you for not “knowing your audience”. Oh and the company is owned by himself and his wife.
Does PwC have a global ethics hotline, not a regional one? I need to consult on a certain situation where I'm very conflicted.
Curious to get thoughts on most likely outcome to wealth in accounting.
Overall, does industry or public accounting offer a more probable path to wealth?
Acknowledging that making partner is not probable for most people, it is also not probable that you’ll win the equity lottery in industry.
Overall, where will the average person make the most money?
I’ve done both now and I’m torn. My equity in industry is adding up, but not sure it would beat comp long term in even an MD role in public.
Getting frustrated that I can't even land a job interview. I'm a recruiter with 5 years of experience in agency looking for a remote opportunity in Europe... I'm kinda tired of doing only recruitment... I want to find an alternative where I can keep doing recruitment but also assume other responsibilities in HR :(
Team please let me know my in hand salary
Within the same meeting from the same person for two different things: "this is the absolutely number 1 priority" 🙄
How are priorities communicated in your company?
Buckle up everyone, the holiday season has officially started. Time for endless carols and overplayed Christmas songs on the speakers all day long 😑
When creating OKRs and looking for metrics to shoot for, how do you calculate what said key results should be? Are they idealistic in nature, or should they be rooted in the work that you’re going to embark on? Then based on that work, a scientific deducing of how that work will effect the key result in the direction you’re trying to go? Essentially, I’m trying to see how calculated one must be.
When you put together your resume and add your consulting company how do you structure it? If you got promoted do you break it down by title? Or do you break it out by client? Do you list your clients
What are the weirdest reasons you have heard for people being laid-off? Heard someone getting laid off because of submitting wack expenses.
Confused between which one to read. Any suggestions would be helpful

Hi guys! Looking to learn about real estate investing! I am a senior in college graduating with a degree in finance so I understand certain aspects, but am looking to learn more on my own about real estate specifically!
What books would you recommend I read?

I'd be in for a pub gathering for sure
Hi there - <30 minority female founder of tech retail start-up preparing for series A round.
