How is everyone coping with the new variant and putting mask back on? Also, who’s planning to go home and ha e a good drink after their day of work? I know I am.

There’s no difference, we’re not putting masks back on. It made sense before the vaccines existed, but now there’s no point unless you expect people to wear masks for the rest of their lives.

Only allowed back in the office and any sponsored activities (read: training and happy hours) if you have proof of vaccination.

As we're in an area of high transmission, if you are in the office you need to wear a mask. We went back to the office in July on hybrid schedules, but are relaxing our requirement to work at least 20 hours in the office if people feel more comfortable working from home for right now.

Does your school take your temperature every day? Mine has taken my temperature once since August, but they claim they are doing otherwise. They also claim they are taking all student temps. I’ve noticed in the past year no upper management guidance or vision. I work within a division and no town hall meetings, no communications from upper management and when they are in its “sorry we’ll talk about it next time” many of my peers in other business functions have said the same and the region leaders have also made similar comments about where are we going and what’s next. My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. Looking for Advice: I am an HR Associate at a midsized company. I was just informed that our HR Generalist put in their resignation. My boss (HR Director) let me know that I am going to be taking on more responsibilities (previous responsibilities of the Generalist role). Has anyone been successful at getting back sign on bonuses after a layoff? My C suite is pushing me to contact continuously more than 10 former employees who were laid off months ago for bonuses over $15k each. I feel so unethical/uneasy doing this, they have me lawyer rate shopping and are willing to sue the get the money back. I told them chances are slim of getting the money back. I’ve said this before and this is reminder to myself as well. What we say, like, comment, and share on FB or other social platform can hurt our job search, promotions or even our employment status.

I pulled a candidate for screening and due to the complexity of the role, I shared the candidates resume with the HM prior to screening. The HM immediately found the candidate on FB and the first thing he saw was a PUBLIC post the candidate wrote going on full attack

Severance question. I was laid off from my last company and luckily found something a week after being let go. My old company found out I got a new job from my LinkedIn and now wants to take my severance away "because I don't need it anymore and it's not a good look for the company paying someone severence when they are employed somewhere else." This is after the Severence Plan Agreement was signed but before it has been paid out. Is this a normal practice this companies and laying people off?

I’m interviewing for a Talent Acquisition internship at a large tech company (~5,000) and I’m feeling a bit iffy about the position. My initial impression was that it involved front-end recruitment, interviews, sourcing but it seems to be more back-end, operations & systems oriented. The job desc. is vague and I believe Talent Acquisition Operations Intern is more fitting since it’s more of a technical position - is this a big difference & will the TA intern look less technical on my resume?

HR insight needed 🙏 my boss set a standing weekly meeting with me and I’m often stood up. Sometimes he apologizes later but often not. Sometimes it’s because he has booked another 1-on-1 team meeting over that time (so he saw it in his calendar). Eg: He’s standing me up now even though we’re both in the same small office AND I emailed+slacked earlier to confirm his availability (no answer).
It’s hard to NOT think this is intentional.
What might a professional, healthy response be to this?
