As a longtime benefits person, I’d also agree with comments here. Getting into comp will give you more options. Tip: Just know that you’ll need to love Excel hard.
Compensation roles are much more at a premium than benefits roles. Additionally, comp can be applied globally whereas benefits is geographically restricted. Another bonus is that all functions and leaders are interested in comp. Benefits are the highlight just once a year during OE or the indivual who has a life event.
I’m considering doing this as well. It seems so expensive. If there is anyway we could help each other out with studying and materials, I’d be open to that!
