When you have kids in a couple of years? I would probably not buy a car today for a family you don’t even have yet. I’m with D1 - you don’t really need 3 rows for 1-2 kids. The third row/non-sedan is good for 3+ kids or kids with lots of sports gear, but you are years away from that. Put off the 3rd row as long as you can.
The third row in the TX is built for midgets, by the way. If you actually plan on putting people taller than a 2nd grader back there, none of the Lexus products will be good for that
Came here to say just about the same as AP1 - if you have kids in a couple years, wait till you are about to actually have kids before buying a 3-row. Also are you planning to have more than 2 kids already? Usually with one kid you really don’t need 3 rows, a 2 row SUV works just fine. I drove a compact sedan to bring my wife and daughter home from the hospital and drove the same sedan for years after that with no problem.
Depends on where you live. One consideration is if you live in/drive into a city and don’t immediately need the space then it may be better to pick a smaller vehicle.
I tend to think about my day to day commute and there’s zippy chance my daily driver is a big car into DC where it’s either tight parallel parking or hobbit garages and getting my mirror swiped off.
The pre-kid (and post-kids’ college) years are your sports car years. Live em up.
