Which company would you join?
I currently work in Sales with the intention of moving over to marketing in the near future. I received two offers for BDR/SDR roles from Sprout Social and Gong. Both salaries are around the same (Gong - base 63k + anticipated $25k in commission, Sprout - 55k base + anticipated $25k in commission).
I like both companies’ software and it extremely hard to decide which position will get me into marketing faster as it is not a traditional BDR path to take.
Help!

It's sweet that you are upset about it OP but unless you sabotaged the manager there's not much you can do or need to feel guilty about. Letting someone go is a business decision usually due to that person's performance or some firm performance problem, neither of which are in your control.
Keep a heads down attitude the next 2 days. Don’t involve yourself in someone else’s problem. You can’t fix it & you don’t know the full story. Go to work, get your shit done, step up and move forward.
Is this about me? 😥
This guy must have done something BAD to get straight up fired that quickly... unless you guys are that different than us, if it were normal performance reasons, it would not be happening like this
Alternately: you have done this to make every male manger at Deloitte extremely anxious
He has a 2 year old and was passionately talking about saving for his kid’s college fund just yesterday. I’m such a wreck of feelings right now.
The point is that deloitte gives and deloitte takes. As I’m being given this role, I can’t help but think that could be me one day.
OP.. very likely you don’t know the whole story. Such things don’t happen without a very good reason. It’s best to follow direction given by your partner in this case.
Weak move on the partner to go and tell you that, both for you and the manager,
"Sucks to suck"
Like, harassment bad, right? I don’t think it’s normal to fire people with less than two days of notice
When you say "let go", could this just mean getting rolled off vs getting fired?
Totally agree it’s completely unprofessional for you to know this before the Manager does. I’m sorry you were put in this situation.
... and neither does the client. I’m happy to be given the opportunity but at the same time I can’t help but feel really bad for my manager.
Those who are staffed on projects who get let go usually means something bad happened or they really suck
Yea, the partner is rolling him off, or plain out firing him????
Great role for you!
Yeah, I don’t imagine there’s anything I can do.... but just wanted to share 😔
It may just be an internal business decision.
Yeah, but maybe you don’t have to feel bad for him...
