6th year litigation associate here with background in employment and commercial litigation. I recently went from an AM50 firm to a smaller well respected regional firm. Hours are better pay great when looking at WLB. Since I got here I’ve noticed less work to go around than I’m used to which makes me nervous. Feeling pressure to develop my own business. I already have a small book but not enough to keep me even 1/4 busy. Any suggestions on growing my book?

Advise on handling rates negotiations with BIPOC and non-male creators? I always want to accept first bid and get uncomfortable when my bosses push to undercut rates (especially now when money is tight), because there is a whole history of BIPOC and non-male people getting paid less. I’ve tried to push back but struggle to articulate this to them. (For the record, I’m POC female and my bosses are white males, and race/gender convos are already very difficult with them.)

Currently working at CNA and have noticed that people that come into the company are making more than people that have been here for years. Is this common ? Also what is the average starting salary for an APD adjuster ?

I was recently (in April) fired from a good nursing position that I was at for 5 years. I reached out to my old ADON to get some information on where we had our vaccinations from and she told me that I should come back and the administrator that I had issues with is gone. Is this something I should even consider? I miss my patients and some of my coworkers and the pay is better, but I don't feel like I would really be welcome to come back.

Want to negotiate salary at an AMLAW200 firm in atlanta. Not a lot of public information about what peer firms (ie, not NY lockstep firms matching cravath scale) pay. What are mid-senior level associates making in Atlanta?

If you use the pomodoro method for time focus and tracking, do you bill in those increments or just keep your billablr timer going the whole time? For example, I work in 25 minute increments for large projects then I get a break. Do I bill .5 for that increment and restart my billing or keep my billing continuously going thereby not rounding up for those 5 min? I have just kept my timer going.

Does anybody work in a rule for a litigation finance or legal funding company who doesn't hail from a big law firm in background? Basically I have a lot of interest in the area have read a book about it in my free time and was wondering what sort of entry level opportunities I should be seeking.

I need an assistant/paralegal. Probably part time at first. I live/work in a small city in Oklahoma, solo practice. I would like approx 10 billable hours/week (if part time) from them. What do i look for in one? Pay amount? (Most here make around $12/hour). Incentives for bonus money?

Any advice on how to deal with a partner/boss who is shifting all responsibility to me with zero guidance, no mentoring, and an unwillingness to discuss the issues? I am concerned with fulfilling billable hours requirement. I’m required to hit 2100 hours yearly and I’m at ~1,500 hours and I think I’ll hit 150-180hours this month. What will happen if I don’t hit my targeted amount by the end of my year.
