7 hr flight. All screens not working. How many points? (delta)

My grandma is nearing the end of her life, so I just booked a last minute flight home with cash. I am thinking of booking a returning flight in the next few days with points with United. I may have to cancel/reschedule...does anyone know if they refund points if <1 week out? I can’t find the answer online.
