@OP- first taking into account that small company is offering you 401K option as well, the offer is 40% better than you make now. Hard to argue why would you stay
Two things to consider - the timing of them doing your I-140 and quality of their legal team. That could be a game changer
Second thing would be, do you like the work they are doing / people you met - smaller company means smaller variety of work and everyone knows everyone
If answers of these two are positive, you should make a transition
At the end, you might want to see for a signing bonus as well. Doesn’t need to be high but will give you a nice start
Good luck and what’s USI? If you don’t mind me asking
Thank you for your thoughtful response. I've spoken to about 5 people so far and they've all been very helpful and informative.
The work they do does seem like the right next step for me. Especially because they recently acquired an IV&V company and have potential for project manager roles and that'd be the l logical next step for me.
I don't know the attorneys they use but their HR mentioned that they've gone thru this before multiple times and haven't had issues. I have just about 2 years left on my visa and they understand that and we've discussed starting the i140 process soon after I join.
Yes, take the role.
Take it.
Take the role , you can always go back with that comp in your back pocket . Good luck !
So is this in India or the US?
I see and the new company will start him on the process to being a permanent citizen? From what I understand - that’s an extremely large benefit. I’d move jobs.
