Black women made the career switch from corporate America to entrepreneurship during Covid-19. While it appears entrepreneurship was deemed a necessity, Black women were the largest group of new business owners closely followed by Latina women. These businesses have high growth potential but why is access to finding still a barrier?

I went from PwC to Slalom and now industry for exactly that. Each move I wanted to eliminate the worst thing about the job that impacted my family. First was the nights away from my kid, second was the long hours after client work, and now I get to wake up with the wife and kids and get home before dinner. Bonus factor: I doubled my salary in 3 years since my first move from PwC.
Love that! More time at home and larger comp. Glad to see this is do-able.
New dad here too. C1 can you elaborate how you landed an industry job that pays better than consulting? My search has only yielded opportunity that requires a large pay cut...
I was underpaid at Slalom for what I was doing. I was running projects like a Director but getting paid like a Consultant. I found a company that saw my skills for what they were worth and negotiated a great package. I’d also like to think I’m somewhat an expert in a high growth SaaS product.
In the same boat. Was fortunate enough to be able to move to a role that offered much more remote work and limited travel. Even though I travel, I over all spend more time at home. Do what you need to - time flies 10x faster once you have kids in the picture and you can’t get that time back.
If C1 writes a book, I’m buying it!
Once I land the contract with Random House, I’ll give you a call.
