A guest told me, ‘You made this so much easier than I expected.’ It was a small comment, but I replayed it in my head all day. What’s a compliment that stuck with you longer than you thought it would?

A few years ago this lady told me I had really good energy for someone working retail. Seemed well intended and backhanded at the same time. Still sticks with me because I don't think I've ever heard anything like that from anyone, much less a customer, before or since.

I had two guests say I made their experience in my city that much better. So much so, they brought me flowers on their last day in my establishment, which they visited multiple times to chat with me 😊

Those little moments stick more than we realize! For me, a guest once said, “You make this feel like home,” and I couldn’t stop thinking about it all day—it reminded me why the small touches matter so much.

A regular got stuck behind a karen who spent 10 minutes doing karen things. When the regular got up the cash, I immediately apologized for the wait, and she told me my ability to handle that without quitting on the spot was incredible. It made me laugh at the time but honestly it is so memorable to me because I was recognized as a human by a customer. That doesn't happen near often enough.
