I was interviewed at EY UK on 7th Sep. It was quite smooth. Since then I haven't heard anything back from them though interviewer claimed SLA to get back with outcome of interview is 48 hours. On portal it still says I'm in hiring team phase. It was level 1 interview.
Should I take this delay as rejection?

VG culture in general is bureaucratic.
Depends on which Sales Exec role.
There are main verticals inside Vanguard with Sales Execs - Retail, Financial Advisor Services, and Institutional.
Financial Advisor Services (mostly ETFs/Funds/Model Portfolios broken into client types - Wires, IBD, RIA, Bank/Trust) is the fastest-paced and is given more resources than Retail (UHNW/ Flagship Plus or Select) or for Institutional (DC plans and external Consultants). Vanguard recently sold off its OCIO arm (previously called Vanguard Institutional Advisory Services - VIAS) to Mercer. That was a good destination for a lot of folks as well, but leaves FAS as a remaining destination. Vanguard tends to pay below industry average, with above average benefits. However, very stable for people who are playing the long game and don't like the risk of rank-and-cut. Your base pay will be standardized and your region and channel you cover can determine your upside for variable comp.
If you are going to VG, the key to getting far is: drink the Kool-Aid. The culture is very strong and they are very transparent to the ends they are looking to meet/maintain (you will hear about driving the flywheel ad nauseum). Contrarians are often held back or pushed out.
