A recruiter recently reached out to me about a role that offered more flexibility, like 2-3 days in the office instead of 5, but the commute would be 3 times longer than my current one. It made me realize that “hybrid” doesn’t automatically mean a better lifestyle. How do you evaluate flexibility versus commute when considering a move?

When applying to hybrid roles, assume that the employer's policy will change and you will be forced to return to office 5 days a week.

That’s a really good point thank you

Where is the office located?

In NYC area

Long post alert; I have been interviewing with a b4 for a senior con role since Mar end. Cleared all the rounds including case study and got strong rating as well as good feedback. Fast forward to last week, the talent POC calls me up and informs that she has asked the business if the position is still open, because now they just need the business approval to roll out the offer. I immediately felt demotivated as to ‘why now’ after all rounds have been cleared (continued in the comment below)

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
