AD Pay Scale Expectations

I’m considering an AUSA position but have no idea what to expect for salary discussions, outside of the general grade I’d be in. Recognizing offices vary, what goes in to determining what percentile a person is assigned to? I have great grades from T14, clerkship and big law experience where I have gotten a lot trial experience. I’m hoping that would position me for the 75% in my year but honestly have no idea what to expect.

funny

I don’t think they will factor in the depth of your experience. Every AUSA has strong creds. It’s more just formulaic based on years of experience and where you land on the scale. Former AUSA here.

There’s no way to answer this without knowing which office. Some offices start everyone at 25 percentile. Some start everyone at 50 percentile. Some start people based on funding for that year.

I’m applying in round 2 and am quite worried about my essays. I have them drafted but I feel they’re not up to par with samples I’m seeing out there. On paper, I have decent enough metrics to believe I have a shot, but not sure if my story is going to come through strongly enough. Are there any consulting services out there that people have found effective and are also affordable?

I’m sure others have considered this, I really feel burned out on my specific subspecialty. For the most part I do interventional pain management. I am midway through my career, but I cannot in anyway see doing this for the future, it just doesn’t feel like I’m making a difference. I’m honored to be a physician and to help a handful of people, but any suggestions on changing specialties mid life? I have perhaps 15 to 20 years yet to practice.. I’ve looked at concierge medicine, I’m open
