Congrats on the offer! It’s the classic ‘it depends’ - what are your prios, current life stage situ, future goals and how do they align with what’s on offer?
There’s also how you got to the offer - those drivers are worth adding to the mix now you have one to consider
How much money do you feel you really need…? If I were in your shoes, I’d be taking it. £320k is a huge sum and it adds optionality either towards senior industry roles or a return to consulting as a partner at a later date. If hitting £500k+ is important, you’ll have plenty from the new salary to invest and grow if you manage to avoid lifestyle creep
Yeah you should take this industry offer, feels like a step towards exec/MD role if they’re prepared to pay you in house that much.
That’s a crazy comp. Take the industry role
What industry/level? Because once you leave consulting your progression path is not only your exit landing spot, but in fact all other companies in that industry
Take the industry. It doesn’t depends on anything accept if your dream is to be a partner of a consultancy. If not take the offer and live a little
That’s pretty good industry offer. Mind me asking the industry and role? Does that include stock?
I'm concerned about leaving the convex trajectory when I'm probably only a few years away from partner
Surely that’s way more than you’re making as an SM at T2. Take the offer, that’s huge comp for industry
One of em and yes above average but not max bonus
That's normal comp for a head of strategy, but punchy for one with maybe 7-8 years of experience.
Ok but software is higher paying than media / retail / consumer products whether or not they have strategy teams
Mind if I dm you on how to get the semis offer? Did you have some background in it?
lol that’ll do it
