What would TC look like for L4 non-tech TAM in Bay Area?
I think $235K all-in for non-tech L4 is in line for Denver. If the recruiter is saying “best and final” that’s probably going to stick. The recruiter will have *some* flexibility around where to shift money as long as they stick to the TC. Most folks (these days anyway)prefer a sign-on bonus vs additional equity. I think come prepared to discuss where you want the dollars - base is less flexible but definitely interchangeable between equity and signon.
Damn should have negotiated harder. Got $220K TC for L4 non tech (TAM) in Bay Area

How many yoe do you have? For L4 nontech role, this number is looking great
Depending on what they feel is applicable experience, it could be anywhere from 6-10 years
I guess I'm questioning this process more than anything. It feels like I've had no voice and am wondering if I can challenge this "fast forward" to a final offer at all. Or is this normal?
Had you discussed the expected timeline and your availability for negotiation with the recruiter? I.e., if you'd let them know about your holiday and that you'd expect to be available for negotiation discussions only after you came back from holiday, I would think it's weird for them to go ahead without getting your input. You could potentially raise it in a kind/nice manner and see if they'd be open to considering your inputs now given you weren't aware of these discussions happening

So people tend to go in with their TC figure first?
TC of $235k seems about right. You could get more but would need a competing offer to leverage I would think.
