Have an offer at Citi for 120K as an AVP in the NY office. Currently making 92K at my current role. Is this a fair offer? I currently WFH pretty much full time at my current role but it seems like this one requires 2-3 days in the office - and this is something I’m very hesitant about. Thoughts on how to approach this?
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

If your role changed in tangible ways then you should certainly initiate a conversation about your compensation. Make the case that you're doing more work now, and as you've grown in your position your compensation should reflect that. You might want to read the room and decide when it would be a good time to have that conversation, but definitely plan on having it.
If I did that I’d be having that conversation every 5 minutes 😂
When the dust started to settle, I brought up my salary talk. Took on a lot and at that point had a lot of positives to show for it.
You can start the conversation now, but my advice is you want to come armed with facts, stats, a formal request and at least a few wins since the change. Talk about it now, and set a deadline to review comp (say 6-12 months out).
This way, you can point directly to impact, ROI, how you crushed the changes - then the formal request sets in motion an internal process where your request is also document. Build your own business case too; the more you can document, the better it serves you and you can bring up stats and proof again should they try to push off a raise.
I would also make sure you do a quarterly call, show your wins, areas you can improve, impact of your work - this all shows you think beyond your role and have greater awareness.

Immediately after a change in defined responsibilities and expectations isn't when you ask for a raise, that conversation comes after you can demonstrate success in all aspects of this "new" role.
