When I see stuff like this I wonder what it is going to take for the widespread burnout culture in our industry to shift. Do we need to have large swaths of people go on FMLA or STD due to mental health or physical health issues for top management to acknowledge that burnout is not some excuse to get out of work?
Yep seconding STD for burnout if u plan on leaving. It’ll be full pay and firm can’t deny it
I did 2 months sab. Via std and Ltd for mental health due to burnout combined withbsuicide of immediate family member. If you cite mental health and have a medical provider sign off on it they can't deny it. You can slo just tak unpaid leave which they can't deny either. They can only deny pto requests which it sounds like that is what you liked it under maybe?
Take STD if u think of leaving

It stands for Short Term Disability. Every firm has it. Talk to your Benefits Rep.

Places that offer sabbatical general do with specific reasons.
If you are wanting paid time off that is something different.
Which is also different from unpaid leave.
