I totally get the "senioritis" that kicks in after putting in a notice. 😅
At that point, I stop stressing over metrics and focus on wrapping up the claims that can be resolved quickly. I also make a point to get the more complex files into the best possible position before I leave, especially those claims that seem like they'll never end.
Since I primarily handle litigated and serious injury claims, I usually reach out to defense counsel to give them a heads-up and see if there's anything pending that can be wrapped up to avoid delays. I've even reached out to plaintiff attorneys to let them know I was leaving.
That said, I only do that for the ones who aren't complete a-holes 😂. You never know when a professional relationship might come in handy down the road, and I've found it's always worth leaving on good terms whenever possible.
