Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?
Accenture Hello, I need some assistance from anyone here working in Accenture. I had worked in 2019. However I had to leave the firm due to medical issues before my probationary period. It depends on whether the JD calls for that experience, or if it’s something that can be learned otj as part of their career dev plan.
If it’s part of the jd then it’s fair. If not, you are being unreasonable and need to either reevaluate the jd or change your expectations.
I can tell you that when I was a young transportation manager, I didn’t expect any of my logistics specialists/analysts to come in knowing how to run pivot tables, macros, or even in depth tms/yms. We hired for fit and potential, and trained them.
You are expected to teach them those things, he probably has a lot of potential but 0 experience. When you hire someone under qualified for a role, you should always expect to need to spend time teaching
Agree with General Manager 1. Will also say young people can be great hires, especially right out of college. Did the candidate seem eager to learn? If he’a familiar with tech in general and right out of college then he could be easy to teach and a quick learner…
Just going to echo what other people have already mentioned here. We've found a lot of success hiring young people for junior roles and providing training for them to catch up on relevant skills.
