Am I the only one tempted? 100k a year to work at in and out... sounds way better than 110k for a lot harder job with grueling hours and student debt. There is a reason not many want this career path anymore. The hours, the pay, the miserable life for what? an extra 10k at most?

Simple question - where will you be in 10 or 20 years if you took such a role? I can tell you exactly where you would be if you stayed in public, especially at the B4, and it's a heck of a lot more than $10k. Your career is a marathon, not a sprint.

Tempting for sure 😂 but good luck finding such a position where you work full-time and get benefits.
But yes public accounting is miserable

this is an altered photo. Don’t quit your day job.

If you leave comp out of it, a busy well-run fast food job can be enjoyable. Fast-paced, team-oriented and you know what you accomplished when you go home.

Just leave to private industry. You'll make more money and work way less. To do this tho, you need to be very upfront in interviews that you are looking for work life balance and don't want to work more than 40 hours per week.
