I want to quit my job everyday, lol
I’m on number 4
Enjoyed industry the most hence I’m still here. You actually see long term impacts. Happiest to exit consulting since terrible culture and partners I worked w at bcg. Banking was kinda fun since straight out of school making f you money and then got a bonus of 65k and quit on the spot since wasn’t long term haha
I don’t think I’m lazy but the jobs become unmotivating… especially as bosses ask for more
Chief
Sounds like you aren’t passionate about your jobs. Not a knock, just gotta find what you want to do longer term (for the 401k vesting if nothing else).
If it counts, every year I want to quit my job
My last two jobs I quit around the ten month mark. Decided to go freelance so I could figure out what I want without looking like a serial job hopper.
Enthusiast
I get that urge after 3-6 months lol. For the first time post grad I’m about to make it to 1 year at the same job. Job hunting tho lol
Not the only one! I’m on my 3rd job as a P&C commercial lines account manager. For me it’s about the right fit with my team and if I feel like they’re gonna overwork me to death, I leave!
Pro
10 full time jobs over 17 years myself.
It’s comforting to hear this is common. You can start to get down on yourself fast when everyone else looks happy or can bear their career and you’re lost or unfulfilled/over-demanded
Rising Star
I think it becomes less fun also when the managers aren't super normal and able to talk about anything besides work. I'm a pretty motivated guy and cool with work hard, but only when there is also some play.
Me except for it’s usually about two months in😂
I’m on my 7th job in 5 years. The most recent one, lasted 2 months. I’m already checked out lol
I bounced around a bunch of jobs I was way overqualified for the first 3 years out of college. I still carry that chip on my shoulder even though I’m now in a job that truly makes me use my brains.
Nope. Me too. Every year for the past 5 jobs
Same here, I try to switch jobs once a year but at least stay at the same company
Totally...
I’ve worked for 3 companies. I started a new job in 2020 and 2021. Now, I’m trying to stay for my 401k to vest and to just show career progression in one place. I think that will be valuable in the long term.
Here! I am just going to push myself to stick around at least until my first year RSU vesting. I will take it at a month at a time after that. I am on month 10 so only a couple of months to go! Last company I had to leave the company at month 7 because it was bought out by private equity so lost some RSUs there. Not going to let that happen again
No…you are not. I’ve been with my company for almost 6 years and have moved up. Got promoted in April and I am already itching for a different role (preferably still within the company).
