Amazon or Atlassian - I had accepted an offer from Atlassian(58lpa) but now expecting an offer from Amazon(Consumer org, no TC yet but expecting > 70lpa). Should i go to Amazon? Both for SDE2.
Atlassian pros - good culture, wlb, benefits
Atlassian cons - office in B’lore(i plan to go hybrid in a few months and not remote), slow promos and growth.
Amazon pros- better brand, higher TC, better learning, Hyderabad location(have friends there).
Amazon cons- PIP, high ops, no wlb, bad culture.

Curious as to how many deals at once is typical for a first year associate to take on (M&A, mostly private equity clients). Deal size is lower middle market and I’ve worked on deals ranging from $1-$110M. 2 deals at once is plenty for me, but it seems like my peers are able to take on more than that at once and still do fine. Maybe I’m just a slow learner/out of my league at the big law firm I’m at.
