Depends on the sales. I have a friend that does traditional bank loan sales. He sold out the bank’s loan capacity by April one year and had nothing to do the rest of the year and still made $450k TC. He moved to a bulge bracket after that so he could sell as much as he wanted since he always hit his numbers pretty early.

If you mean true sales - not "account management" in the consulting sense, WLB is fine. Since you're not really creating anything but pitch material, the work isn't deliverable based, it's networking, conversations, partner relationship building. You're never really not working - ABC - but you can dial it up and down. What was frustrating to me is that I was selling a thing - and it wasn't up to me what that thing did - so some years I blew away my numbers because the "thing" was hot in the market, and some years it was crickets regardless of my hustle.
