Just keep multiple cards.
I physically carry 3...
Amex Blue Preferred - Gas/Groceries (3%/6% back)
BofA Travel - everyday, no category purchases (2.6%)
Chase Freedom - personal spending, rarely used
At home we have an American Airlines, Marriott Bonvoy, Amazon and a couple others that serve specific purposes, but are really ever used online.
There is no one card to solve it all, nor should there be.

I don't think the married couple or sharing finances is going to be the big deciding factor. You can both be authorized users and have access to the account online/app. And set up alerts for spending. That's all standard for any of the major banks, and many of the smaller ones too.
You should figure out where you spend most of your money and get a card that will maximize rewards based on that.
You may even want to get more than one
The CSR doesn’t split charges for different card users
Bank of america cash rewards is a good one.

Depends on your lifestyle. Do you travel/eat out a lot? Do you want points/miles or cash back? How much can you put on CC each month etc.? What’s your credit score?
Also you can choose more than just one to maximize points/bonus as long as you can pay off after 0 APR period
I’d recommend the Chase trifecta (google can explain it better than i can) and an AMEX for anything that might need a warranty. AMEX warranties are the best.
I use it probably once every couple years. An additional year gets added to an existing warranty. It’s great peace of mind. Most recently i used it to repair my refrigerator. Even had 2 different techs/companies come out. AMEX paid for both. In the past I’ve used it for:
Crappy electrical service - technicians tried to price gouge me for doing nothing. To get them out of my house i paid and then called amex.
IPAD case broke and they wouldn’t refund
Food order gone wrong - have them reimburse what was wrong
Samsung TV repair out of factory warranty
Bunch of stuff. I don’t abuse it, but it’s for peace of mind. Only reason i keep the gold card these days is out of loyalty. The points from chase transfers to southwest (my preferred airline) so i use them more.
We use Amex Blue Cash Preferred, am happy w it
Citi double cash

We don’t travel a ton but spent on groceries, eating out, and typical miscellaneous stuff. Her credit score is in the 7s, mine in the 800s. I saw that Amex has an Amazon card which sounds cool since we shop at Whole Foods and buy stuff on Amazon pretty regularly
Amex Gold would probably work best for you - great rewards on grocery
