Would imagine the range is significant. At a guess you’ll be in the region of 175ish to 200k. I’m a senior in the north east of the US in IT Audit. Our range is huge I think 100k to 165k. If you’re only moving for money I would think twice. The US is great - but so is London. Plus the US is very expensive. I haven’t lived in London though in fairness.

There’s a lot to unpack with this seemingly simple question. Think twice and hard if you’re only moving for money…California is expensive and your standard of living will largely be the same as London.
Other things to think about with an international move:
- visa and employment authorization
- taxes (not just on what you’ll be making, but any other investments or retirement you already have)
- independence concerns being in audit
- culture shock.
- work life balance
Thanks for your insights. Am up for ILR/PR in a few months. Perhaps I would wait for my Brit passport, and take a L1A route.
Though money is the deciding factor I also want to work in US after working in the UK for 6 years. Want to face new challenges. I have a plan of going back to my home country in 5 years so thought I could stay in US for 3 years.
