Are we "both sides-ing" refusing to accept the results of an election when not only are the Republicans still whining about 2020, but Trump is calling doubt on some of the Republicans own primaries?

I mean, I’ll be really pissed if the Republicans keep on committing fraud (they are the only ones who consistently do it) and somehow get away with actually stealing an election. 2020 was a dress rehearsal for them I’m afraid. Their plan now, as literally stated by a gubernatorial candidate, is to appoint electors who will do their bidding. I will not stand for that.

There won’t be a Civil War between left and right, but I could see the anti-democratic movement that started in the aftermath of the 2020 election metastasizing and making a new fault line between pro-democracy and anti.
But I’m just not sure the pro-democracy side will do anything about it. States will rewrite their laws to make election theft permissible, so a State’s AG, appointed by an anti-democratic legislature and Governor, will ignore a vote (that will be extremely gerrymandered to bias one party) and refuse to certify it, means a President can be brought in to power legally but illegitimately. Got a problem with it? Take it up with the SCOTUS. Oh, we put our people in there too.
I could very easily see the US sliding into becoming a Hungary, without a single shot fired.

Authoritarianism is on the rise and democracy is on the decline in western nations, including in the US.
Im ready for a Civil war, as I have been for years. If you want peace, blue states and red states should form their own unions.

EY1 yes, if an armed group tried to rise up against it.

No but my brother shared an article with me about a looming food shortage due to assumed protracted war in Ukraine, so that’s added to my “we’re f*cked” list. I also don’t see anyone accepting a loss in 2024 without significant strife.
I like Ray Dalio and almost worked for Bridgewater Associates when I was younger.
That’s said, Ray Dalio has been saying this for the past 10 years. He put a lot of money on a US downfall. Maybe he truly believes, maybe not; but he has a lot at stake on China and a US downfall
No. What Dalio said is very likely and only a matter of time
If you think China is any better, their debt and demographic timebombs… combined with their growing ability to rally all their regional neighbors against them… suggest real problems down the track.

I would hedge my risk by putting money on Non US stocks.
BTW, what is Chinese index called?

Most likely whoever loses will complain but if you aren’t a politics/news junkie you wouldn’t really know anything is going on, and it won’t make a difference in your day to day life unless you decide to care about it. Similar to 16 and 20.
